Happy Labor Day Weekend Everyone!  We are looking at an amazing weekend of weather to have some more  #funonthewater!   River City Boat Sales will be closed this Saturday 9/5 through Monday 9/8 and back in the office on Tuesday 9/9.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank our team for all their hard work this boating season.  Enjoy your weekend guys!

Boones Ferry Marina Gas Dock WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR BUSINESS ALL WEEKEND.  Our dock team down there will be able to take care of your needs for gas, snacks, and any boat accessories.

While this weekend is going to be a great time on the water, it does also mean that the sheriffs will be on high alert to ensure everyone’s safety. So, let’s review the rules and regulations the Oregon State Marine Board (OSMB) implemented for this current year.

  1. No wake zone in between bridges

    1. Between Boones Bridge and the Railroad Bridge, the river is the slow-no wake from shore to shore
    2. Slow down well ahead of entering a slow-no wake area so your boat does not introduce wake to the area
  2. Watersports Zones

    1. Red Zones: Wake-surfing is not allowed. Although, wakeboarding and other inflatable devices are allowed 200ft from docks; Slow-no wake when inside 100 ft. from docks.
    2. Yellow Zone: Wake-surfing is allowed 300 ft. from docks; No other towed watersports are permitted in this section.
    3. See below for a full map and description of the areas that are regulated

  3. Towed Watersports Education Requirement

    1. It is now mandatory for boats engaged in wakeboarding or wake surfing to display a Towed Watersports Decal, and boat operators need a Towed Watersports Education Card
    2. This education requirement applies to the Willamette River between river mile 30-50 in the area known as the “Newberg Pool”
    3. To obtain a Towed Watersports Education Card, you must have your boater education card in Oregon.

We wish you all a fun, safe, and sunny weekend and we look forward to seeing you on the water!
